rugbrod: (it's a piece of cake)

A low-carb recipe yesterday and a sweet with real sugar today. That's what it means to have a balanced diet, right?
I guess you can add even more sugar to these if you want to eat them plain, but I make these for my girlfriend and I know she's just going to cover them with syrup anyway. :p
Recipe under the cut!

Ingredients:
-2 tbsp brown sugar
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-3/4 cups milk
-2 tbsp butter, melted
-1 large egg
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1/2 tbsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions:
Pre-heat waffle iron
Mix wet ingredients with brown sugar
Whisk together the remaining (dry) ingredients in a seperate bowl
Add wet to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Pour into waffle maker once pre-heated and bake according to waffle iron's instructions.
Makes 5-6 squares in a 4-square Belgian waffle maker.

Notes:
-I'm a mess who always has rock-hard brown sugar so I soak it in the milk beforehand to soften (if the waffles are premeditated) or toss it in with the butter while I'm melting it.
2022 UPDATE DAMN I MUST HAVE WRITTEN THIS RECIPE RIIIGHT BEFORE I STARTED MAKING MY OWN BROWN SUGAR. JUST ADD THE WHITE SUGAR & MOLASSES. NEVER MESS W STORE BOUGHT BROWN SUGAR AGAIN
-The cinnamon is not there to be noticeable, it's just there to boost up the chocolate and vanilla. If prominent cinnamon is what you want, probably quadruple the amount. A pinch of cayenne pepper couldn't hurt either.
