Recipe: simple brownies

Finally, something I expect other human beings on my dw (all.... 2? 3? of you?) might ACTUALLY want to make.
There's nothing too special about this brownie recipe, there are probably a lot like it, but it's good, my girlfriend likes it, and it's on a small enough scale that I can bake it in my 8x8 square pan and thus not have a ton of leftovers. Since I'm usually feeding only two people, leftovers are always a looming concern in my mind if something doesn't freeze well.
You can always scale it up if you WANT to make lots of brownies for a party or something, of course.
Recipe under the cut!
Ingredients:
-1/2 cup butter, melted
-1 cup granulated sugar
-2 eggs
-1/3 cup cocoa powder
-1/4 tsp salt
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-1 1/2 tsp baking powder
-OPTIONAL 1/3-1/2 cup chocolate chips or m&ms
Instructions:
-Pre-heat oven to 350 F
-Beat together butter and sugar until smooth
-Beat in eggs until combined well, then cocoa, salt and vanilla
-stir in flour until just combined
-fold in chocolate chips or m&ms if desired
-pour into greased 8x8 pan and bake for 30 minutes or until done
notes:
-They're pretty sugary and soft and might stick a bit even if the pan is well greased. I find a parchment liner at the bottom of the pan helpful to save you lots of scrubbing later.
